FBI Requests Public Assistance to Identify Bank Robber
Robber Hits Twice in One Week
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the San Diego Violent Crimes Task Force are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individual responsible for a bank robbery in El Cajon, California. This same individual robbed two different banks within the same week.
On July 11, 2017, at approximately 11:57, the Cal Coast Credit Union, located at 8002 La Mesa Boulevard, La Mesa, California was robbed by a lone male. The robber approached the teller and provided a handwritten note demanding money from the bank. The robber was provided a sum of cash and departed the bank on foot.
On July 14, 2017, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the First Citizens Bank, located at 175 W. Main Street, El Cajon, California was robbed by a lone male. Similar to the robbery on July 11, 2017, the robber provided a handwritten note demanding money. The robber again departed the bank with a sum of cash.
The robber is described as a black male, in his 30s, standing approximately 6’0″tall.
Witnesses have described the robber as follows:

- Build: Medium to heavy
- Weight: Approximately 200 to 225 pounds
- Robbery #1: Dark t-shirt; white apron; large, straw hat; sunglasses; red backpack
- Robbery #2: Blue and white plaid button-down shirt; dark baseball hat; sunglasses
- Weapon: None seen or threatened during the robbery
